Weatherford True Texas!

“Weatherford True Texas since 1859 !”

Weatherford is a historic town that is proud of its tradition and heritage. We are known for our community and family oriented way of life, which is why Weatherford is one of the premier places to live and visit in the North Texas.

Visitors to Weatherford will enjoy our many destinations, including a downtown shopping district that is full of antique, boutique and specialty stores, restaurants, and entertainment.
One our proudest treasures is Chandor Gardens (711 W Lee Ave), located in the historic district of Weatherford. Chandor Gardens was built in 1936 by British-born portrait artist Douglas Chandor, and captures both the ornate design of ancient Chinese architecture and the elegance of a formal English garden. The 3.5-acre estate leads its visitors on a meandering path of beauty and wonderment. Chandor Gardens is a city owned and operated facility that provides a relaxing place for visitors to visit.

We are also very proud of our deep western, ranching, and agricultural roots. Known as the Cutting Horse Capital of the World, we have over 75 cutting horse ranches and countless trainers and champion horses call Parker County home. The Parker County Sherriff's Posse has also played a key role in preserving our western heritage since its inception in 1947. The Posse's two flagship annual events are the Frontier Days Ranch Rodeo each June, and the Ranch Rodeo each September.

Our old-time Farmers’ Market, First Monday Trade Days, and a bounty of Victorian-era homes bring visitors to our city to share in our desire to maintain our heritage as we grow toward the future. Weatherford is also becoming a destination place for many visitors because of our large scale events. Our signature events include Spark in the Park and Holiday in the Park attracting over 30,000 people each year. Each summer, we celebrate our heritage as the Peach Capital of Texas with the Parker County Peach Festival in Downtown Weatherford in July.

Round Top, Small Town America!

Any Texan worth their boots will tell you that bigger is better—and then proudly declare that the Lone Star State sits smack dab at the intersection of the two. Where else could you find a 100,000-square-foot honky tonk? Do a little exploring, though, and you’ll find that there are plenty of small towns around the state that seem to sprout up in contradiction, packing Texas-sized amounts of swagger into petite locales. Round Top is one of them.

Situated on the southeast crescent of the land of Bigger and Better, about halfway between Houston and Austin, the tiny town (population 90) makes a fine case for the old adage that good things come in small packages.

Incorporated in 1870 (just 25 years after Texas made the transition from independent country to a state), Round Top has carefully protected its history. The town’s historic buildings are so well preserved that it’s easy to convince yourself that the entire place is something of a fiction, like a perfectly curated theme park or movie set. But the historic structures in this one-square-mile town are 100% genuine, as real as the leather on those cowboy boots.

But even as these century-and-then-some-old buildings offer a step back in time, Round Top brims with forward-thinking entrepreneurs, hoteliers, and restaurateurs, who aim to hold on to its tiny-town charms while welcoming outsiders to discover its Hill Country magic. Here’s how to pass the time while you’re in Round Top, Texas—the South’s Best Tiny Town for 2023. Click here for info on the famous Original Round Top Antique Fair!
